The Motives featuring Matt Taylor (UK) 13th January

A new band project brings together some of the finest talent from the European blues scene. The Motives draw their musical inspiration from 40s New York, 50s Chicago and 60s London, combining Matt Taylor's electrifying guitar work with Jonny Dyke's virtuoso Hammond organ and piano over a rock solid rhythm section of Roy Martin on drums and Andy Graham on Bass.

Charles Waller's excellent photographs capture a quite remarkable  night at 'the bbc'. It was a  unique fusion of audience and artists that led one member to judge it the best live concert he had ever attended in 40 years as a music fan- displacing Little Richard/ Jerry Lee Lewis in 1962!

Another member (a Yorkshireman, at that) declared loudly that he would have paid £10 just to hear 'I'd Rather Go Blind'.

Quite outstanding!
